Powerful and Intuitive EtherCAT Network Diagnostic Tool.
Struggling to find an effective yet intuitive EtherCAT Analyzer?
Meet KPA EtherCAT Analyzer – a diagnostic and supervision tool for EtherCAT networks that works right out of the box.
EtherCAT Analyzer is an intuitive cross-platform software solution for inspecting and tracking EtherCAT networks. The application operates autonomously, without relying on the Master controller.
It captures and evaluates all communication between the Master and EtherCAT slaves via a sniffer (e.g., ET2000, tcpdump, or Data Logger tool) connected after the Master. The Analyzer supports simultaneous logging of both outgoing (Master → Slaves) and incoming (Master ← Slaves) data streams for in-depth evaluation.

Key Features
EtherCAT Protocol Analysis
KPA EtherCAT Analyzer simplifies EtherCAT protocol analysis by non-intrusively decoding captured EtherCAT frames (.pcap) and automatically mapping them to Process Image variables described in the configuration file (ENI.xml).
No network modifications, configuration changes, or Master software adjustments are required.
The application supports frame decoding, timing analysis, and visualization of data exchange between Master and Slaves, enabling a detailed look at every aspect of network communication.
EtherCAT Network Information (ENI) File Integration
The Analyzer leverages the standard EtherCAT Network Information (ENI) file – fully compliant with the ETG.2100 specification – containing the complete Process Image definition, including variables, data types, and cyclic frame structure.
It works with ENI files generated by any compliant configuration tool, for instance, KPA EtherCAT Studio 2.
This ensures full compatibility across EtherCAT networks and simplifies configuration and analysis workflow.
Process Data Monitoring
KPA EtherCAT Analyzer provides intuitive visualization of process variables (inputs/outputs), allowing users to selectively monitor specific signals, dynamically zoom through timelines, and precisely analyze values at any point.
Its clear graphical representation enables quick understanding of data consistency and network behavior, even in complex or high-load environments.
Why Choose KPA EtherCAT Analyzer
- Minimal Intrusion. No changes to the Master configuration or device software – just connect a sniffer and use the ENI file.
- Fast Setup for New or Existing Systems. Suitable for both commissioning and maintenance scenarios, reducing downtime and accelerating deployment.
Typical Use Cases
- Commissioning and maintenance engineers of automated machinery and production lines.
- System integrators working with multi-vendor EtherCAT networks.
- Technical support and service departments perform preventive diagnostics and quick issue detection.
- Educational and research laboratories exploring EtherCAT technology and network analysis.
Technical Highlights
- Cross-platform support (Windows / Linux, if applicable).
- Connection via a sniffer placed after the Master.
- Requires ENI file for decoding process data.
- Works with captured .pcap files for offline analysis.
- Graphical user interface with live visualization, and watch lists for focused signal observation.
