koenig-pa GmbH offers EtherCAT slaves modules to integrate EtherCAT network with other network(s). Depending on the physical interface KPA EtherCAT board is attached to or installed in a Control PC. Therefore the Control PC with its network is represented to an EtherCAT master as a regular slave device.

KPA PC104 Interface Boards (EtherCAT slave with PC104 interface) integrate a PC 104 system into an EtherCAT network.

Hardware

  • ET 1100 ASIC, no CPU for closer synchronization
  • Polling and IRQ-handling
  • 8 kByte PDO, 8 FMMUs, 8 Sync Managers
  • DMA – support
  • Transfer rate of 2 MByte/s using DMA and IRQ
  • Software-configurable I/O address
  • Two address switches for position independent addressing

KPA EtherCAT Slave Stack

  • Support of multiple boards within one system
  • Various Operating Systems (OS):
INtime, Linux, RTX, QNX, Windows-CE, -7, xPC Target
  • Several mailbox protocols CoE, EoE, FoE, SoE, VoE
  • Distributed Clocks
  • Different scan rates

Application

  • Automation, automotive test beds, simulation system, etc.
  • Start-up development kit for EtherCAT slave application under Windows XP with possibility to port and then to target using the same Slave stack API (cross-platform development)

Delivery Package

  • PCI board with compiled KPA EtherCAT Slave stack
  • Documentation and sample applications
  • One year of technical support and assistance in conformance testing included

KPA EtherCAT 4CAN Gateway is an EtherCAT slave for connecting of 4 raw CAN buses to an EtherCAT network. This device of KPA Gateway Boards even meets the EMI requirements for automotive testing industry.

Advantages

  • Design enables mounting near the CAN devices
  • Can be operated in harsh environments (IP65)
  • Resistant to electromagnetic induction
  • Meets the EMI requirements for automotive testing industry
  • Replaces OS dependent on PCI CAN boards

 EtherCAT

  • FoE for firmware update
  • MDP support for configuring with any EtherCAT Master configuration tool
  • Master-API is similar to PCI-API
