Now available: KPA EtherCAT Analyzer version 1.0.2521.0, delivering expanded protocol coverage, reworked Master data acquisition, and a significantly enhanced trigger system. The following improvements are included:
- FPRD/FPWR command support
Added support for FPRD (Fixed Physical Read) and FPWR (Fixed Physical Write) commands in EtherCAT analysis. This expands the range of supported physical read/write operations for more comprehensive network analysis. - Extended trigger configuration and visualization
Significantly expanded triggers and their setup. You can now set the trigger position on the chart (left, center, or right) and define the interval for recording signal values before and after a trigger event. Trigger points and interval boundaries are also shown on the chart. - 100 ms chart interval
Added a 100 ms display interval on the chart. It shows raw (non-scaled) signal values and is intended for Masters with a very high cycle time (for example, 100 μs), where shorter windows make the data readable. - Optional signal display limit
Increased the number of signals available for simultaneous analysis to 12 with a full license (previously 6). This is the tested limit that guarantees full functionality – database recording, data processing, and visualization. Users can also change this value in the options if needed. - Master Plugin Improvement
Reworked Master data acquisition: values are now read as a continuous data stream via the Master API instead of periodic polling. This improves reliability and performance of online analysis and monitoring, and, also, enables analysis of the Master’s internally mapped variables. - Splash screen on startup
Added a splash screen that is shown while Analyzer starts up. - Auto-switch to Charts tab on analysis start
After starting an analysis, the application now automatically switches to the Charts tab, so the recorded data is shown immediately. - Common chart toolbar
Replaced separate chart action buttons with a unified toolbar on the plot. The toolbar provides recording control (start/stop, pause), snapshot saving, trigger navigation, scaling mode, and interval selection in one place. - Add trigger from signal context menu
Added an “Add trigger” item to the signal context menu on the source tabs. Selecting it opens the Triggers tab with the Add Trigger dialog, with the corresponding variable already selected. - LRW commands support
From now on, in addition to LRD/LWR commands, the Logical Read-Write (LRW) commands are supported for EtherCAT analysis. This enhances the analysis capabilities for advanced use cases.NOTE
The database schema has been updated to support LRW. Projects from earlier versions may not be fully compatible as there is currently no migration path provided. Please plan your actions accordingly. - Recently used IP and port list
Added saving of recently used IP addresses and ports for Master connection. Previously used connection endpoints can now be quickly selected again without re-entering them manually. - Added normalization of signal values over the visible plot range.
Added an option to normalize signal values over the currently visible plot range. This makes it easier to compare signals with different scales by mapping their values to a common range based on what is shown on screen.
